Aaine pe chipki laal bindi
Chaand meri chaukhat pe nange paon khada hai,
Aasmaani jharokhe se chupa kar,
Ghar ke andhere kamron ke liye
Mutthi bhar roshni le aaya hai.
Rangeen tasveeron mein qaid kisse,
Aur lifafon me mein chippi kavitaayein
Ghazalon ki tarah aaj bhi mere ghar ke,
Khaamosh konon mein goonjti hain.
Rozbaroz jab khud ko thapthapa ke
Sone ki nakaam koshish karti hun...
Maheen dhaagon jaisi tumhari yaadein,
Aankhon se neend udaa deti hai.

Bistar ke sirhaane rakhi maa ki sari,
Har raat loriyaan sunati hai.

दिल को चीरने के लिए ये चार लाइनें ही काफी हैं .
दिन की ख़ामोशी और रात के सन्नाटे में मीठी, दर्द भरी चांदनी की तरह बिफरी हुई यादों की मर्मिक प्रस्तुति के लिय शुक्रिया !
