Voyage with God

Winter wants to say goodbye...

The clouds have come back home...

Embarrassed in their muddy socks...

Rain drops paint the canvas dull gray...
A drenched pigeon sits outside the window...
Looking at itself in dismay...

Hollow red eyes filled with sorrow...

As we look towards the orange gray sky...

We find each other together even in our loneliness...

(Om Bhur Bhuvah Swaha

Tat Savitur Varenyam

Bhargo Devasya

Dheemahi

Dhiyo Yona

Prachodayat)

O God we meditate on your divine light

Bestow your blessings on us

So that our intellect maybe enlightened

So that we may rise higher and higher

To the highest consciousness

Enable us to meditate

To be successful in all affairs of life

And to realize God...

...

...

...

Winter wants to say good bye...

Through the pages of these books...

I travel across continents and countries...

Crossing great oceans and seas...

I feast upon the thoughts of great philosophers...

And relish the discoveries of geographers...

Now I am in the dense undergrowth of Africa...

Now, in the vast and lonely Antarctica...

Now atop the great Himalayas...

Now in the depths of Mariana Trench!

I ramble across the blue continent...

I dance to the tunes of folk songs

I sing the tales of forgotten people

I delve into the abysmal Amazon...

And slide upon the Niagara Falls!

(Loka Samasta Sukino Bhavantu

Om Shanti Shanti Shanti Om)

May all beings be happy and free

Om Peace Peace Peace Om
Like Gulliver I am set on my voyage...
My flight is inspired by love;

Only God is my companion...

Imagination feeds my thoughts...

And dreams intoxicate me...

Winter wants to say goodbye...

But I want to stay here all day long...

Even if winter abandons me... ....

Because,

I know

God is my companion...

(Asato Ma Sadgamaya

Tamso Ma Jyotirgamaya

Mrityor Ma Amritamgamaya

Om Shanti Shanti Shanti)

Lead me from the unreal to the real

Lead me from darkness to light

From Mortality to Immortal

Om Peace Peace Peace

Nice work. The way I feel the rhythm is like a premeditation phase, meditation (trying to meditate) and dissolution in random thoughts. Did you write to direct in this way or with a different theme?

It really was some soothing read! At 6.30 in the morning, no, I do not lie.

The fusion of Sanskrit into English and the alternation between both the verses, bilingual, made the poem a further interesting read.

Best regards.
